walk like an egyptian

Last night we went to the Fox for a special lecture by the famous archaeologist Zahi Hawass. If you ever watch National Geographic specials or pretty much anything on ancient Egypt you'll recognize him. And yes, going to a history lecture on a Thursday night probably qualifies us as either old, boring, or dorks - or maybe all three! but it was really very interesting. Dr. Hawassi talked about and showed pictures of his work finding, excavating, and preserving sites like King Tut's tomb and the Valley of the Golden Mummy! This all goes along with the big King Tut exhibit that is in Atlanta until May. I'm hoping to go soon as I've heard that it's amazing and a really well-done exhibit.
Hope everyone has a delightful weekend!

OMG, Zahi Hawassi is in Atlanta? He's a hoot, I met him (several times) when I lived in Egypt and let me tell you... he won't even entertain the idea that ETs helped the ancient Egyptians build the Great Pyramids or anything else for that matter.
He's quite entertaining though, and very knowledgeable, so I'm sure you got your bucks worth.
And you really shouldn't miss the King Tut Exhibition, it's incredible.
